VA FLIGHT TRAINING

VA benefits are available to qualified veterans, active duty and reserves.  Your first step is to find out if you have VA benefits available to you. You can call the toll-free VA Education number: 1-888-442-4551 or visit the VA Education web site.

Approved applicants will received 60% on all fight training; this includes dual flights, solo flights, pre/post flight briefings and ground training contained within each VA approved flight training course.

You must have at least a Private Pilot certificate and a current second class medical prior to enrolling in your VA program.  ATP students must have a current first class medical. For further information on VA training and VA Forms, contact John Frederick, VA Certifying Official at 753-4167 or 230-0777.

If you know you are eligible for VA training, complete the application (VA Form  22-1990), print out two copies. If you are active duty, you must have the Base Education sign the forms. If no longer active, please bring a copy of your DD214. Bring the forms to the Aero Club and John Frederick will check the forms for proper information. If all the information is correct, you will receive a copy back for your records.

You can also make application on line at the Veterans ON-line APPlication  (VONAPP) website. Instruction for filling out the application are online. If you do apply on line, print out a copy of your completed application and give it to John Frederick.

If you have been receiving VA Benefits through another school or program and are changing to Elmendorf Aero Club you must fill out VA Form 22-1995.

For VA training information and rates see  VA TRAINING CATALOG AND RATES

SPECIAL NOTE: Get reimbursed for your Knowledge Test and your checkride if you are enrolled in a VA Training Course.  Download an Application for Licensing and Certification Testing Fee Reimbursement Form and attach your receipt and test results. Send one form for Knowledge Test and one for a checkride. Do not submit both on one form. If you have a question contact  John Frederick.
